The former water tower in reinforced was built in 1956-1958 according to the plans of the former city commissioner of City Planning and architect Dr. William K. Fischer. Since the 1970s, the top floor was of a revolving restaurant, wherever the outer platform is reached. 56 minutes is the revolution of the rotating segment which contained the guest area, which offers stunning views of Aachen and the three countries.
